The Banshees of Inisherin would not be award winning without our DIVEMASTER / Actress Niamh Kerins. Here is her story.
“The film crew posted flyers around Kilronan that they were looking for extras for the movie so I sent in my picture! Once we got picked we had to go in for fittings. As it was during peak covid times, before everything we had to have a covid test done by the crew. Once that was clear I had my fitting where we were layered with shawls and heavy skirts; happy it's a lot easier to get dressed now! Hair and make up was pretty simple just sea water in my hair! On the day of the filming we arrived and were given breakfast and got dressed. It was cool seeing everyone in the outfits. Then we were taken to the filming site and then there was a lot of standing around but was actually really enjoyable with the other extras. The scene I was in only took about 15 minutes to shoot and then that was the end of my movie career. It was a really fun day and a great experience to get to see the behind the scenes of a big movie like that.”
