The SSI Deep Diver Specialty course is designed to train divers in safely exploring depths beyond the standard recreational limits, reaching down to 40 meters (130 feet). 

Whether you’re interested in deep wrecks, marine biodiversity, or mastering advanced dive techniques, the SSI Deep Diver Specialty in the Aran Islands offers a perfect mix of adventure and skill-building in one of Europe’s most remarkable diving destinations.


Completing the SSI Deep Diver Specialty equips divers with the knowledge and skills to confidently and safely explore deeper underwater environments, making it an excellent step for divers interested in advanced dive sites, wrecks, or technical diving in the future.

  • How To Book

    1. Pick any four (4) Daily Dive Trips from the calendar, selecting the upgrade option for each dive. These dives can be scheduled at any time and do not need to be booked all at once.

    2. Successfully complete all four (4) dives and the additional e-learning (online theory).

    3. Receive your Deep Diver qualification!


    Note: During these upgraded dive trips, full dive gear is included.

    Swimwear and Towel: Essential for your training sessions and dives.

  • Can a non-diver join this trip?

    No, the dive trip is for qualified divers only.

  • How many divers fit on the boat?

    Max 5 divers + 1 our guide (6 in total).

  • Are these trips guided?

    Yes, always.

  • Can I rent dive gear?

    Yes, you can. However, your dive will include full Dive Gear: Wet suit (7mm), Boots (5mm), Gloves (3mm), Mask, Fins, Snorkel, Regulators Set and BCD.

  • What is the water temperature?

    Min. 10°C / 50°F  max 18°C / 65°F (depends on the time of the year).

  • What can I see underwater?

    The list is long... most popular are grey seals, lobsters, crayfish, many types of wrasse, cuckoo wrasse, dogfish/cat sharks. Also, if you're lucky enough, you can meet basking sharks, blue sharks even sun fish...

  • I'm a beginner diver can I join this trip?

    Yes, you must have at least Open Water Diver certification.

  • How is the water visibility?

    From 5m / 17ft to infinity... Never less than 5m/17ft.

  • What type of air tanks do you provide?

    For scuba, we use 12L steel air tanks with single-valve DIN or Yoke.

  • Can I use Nitrox?

    No, we don't have it.

  • Is there drysuit diving only?

    No, we use wetsuits 7mm (extra shorty 5mm if needed) all year round.
